We believe God intends every believer to belong to a local church. Membership in a local church is a way we proclaim to the world that we belong to Christ and express our dependence upon other Christians, both church members and leaders. In church membership, we commit to live out the New Testament commands to love, encourage, exhort, and care for one another in an intentional and meaningful way.
If you believe God is leading you to join Immanuel Church in membership, we invite you to begin the membership process described below.
Step 1: Review the Church Foundations Series.
We encourage prospective members to watch/listen to the Church Foundation Series. These four sessions aim to answer questions like, What is the church? Why does church membership matter? Who leads the church? and What kind of church does Immanuel aspire to be?
- Session One: Membership (Pt. 1)
- Session Two: Membership (Pt. 2)
- Session Three: Church Leadership
- Session Four: Key Pursuits and Ministry Culture
Step 2: Review our Church Documents.
If you are interested in joining Immanuel Church in membership, please read and consider our essential Church Documents. Reviewing our Statement of Faith (core beliefs), Church Commitments (membership), and Bylaws (organization and leadership) will help you better understand Immanuel Church.
Step 3: Submit a Membership Questionnaire
The Membership Questionnaire helps our pastors get to know your story, assess your understanding and application of the Gospel, and encourage you in your journey toward Christ.
Step 4: Have a Conversation with a Pastor
Once you have submitted a Membership Questionnaire, a pastor will contact you. During this conversation, a pastor will go over your Membership Questionnaire and answer any questions you may have about Immanuel Church. We will also clarify the next steps for membership.
